There is a new bait company to hit the market at ICAST 2019, and it is called FishLab Tackle.

This new line of baits hit the market this past week in Orlando. They are a small company with big things ahead. Right out of the gate the have a somewhat small, but well thought out and tight selection of baits.

The Initial FishLab Lineup

As I mentioned, FishLab Tackle is a small company. The initial offering consists of roughly 8 families of baits. Carnada Slow Pitch and Flutter Jigs, Mack Attack, soft and hard, Mad Eel, Bio-Gill soft and hard, Bio Minnow and Rattle Toad.

In the offshore category, FishLab Tackle offers the Carnada Family of baits. On the inshore front, they offer the Soft and Hard Mack Attack as well as the Mad Eel. And on the freshwater side, they offer the Rattle Toad, Soft Bio Minnow and the Bio-Gill in both soft and hard baits.

Bio-Gill

The Bio-Gill comes in both a soft and hard version. The Hard Bio-Gill comes in a single jointed glide, a wake version and a double jointed swimbait. Offered in a couple of sizes and variety of colors, they are some wicked looking baits.

Bio-Gill

The soft bio-gill also comes in a variety of sizes and colors and features a rigged and unrigged version with a strong kicking paddle tail.

Rattle Toad

The Rattle Toad is a unique frog style top water bait that features a built in Rattle chamber right in the head. This combined with the floating pvc skirt design keep the Rattle Toad perfectly flat on the water and give it a great side to side walking action.

Mack Attack

FishLab is going after the saltwater market as well. The new Soft and Hard Mack Attack baits are great action baits that attract hungry predators from far away.

The Hard Mack Attack is a jointed bait that has a great swimbait style swim to it and comes rigged with two stout treble hooks and a large single hook off of the back.

Hard Mack Attack

The Soft Mack Attack is a paddle style rubber bait that comes in multiple sizes and is built to cast, drop or troll behind your boat.

Mad Eel

The Mad Eel is the next in the salt water lineup. These baits are also a paddle style bait designed to mimic sand eel prey for monster North East Striper fisherman. I’ll be using these on the west coast for tuna and yellowtail as well. Heck, even the smaller size has been a calico killer already.

Carnada Jigs

The Offshore family of baits consists of the Carnada family of baits. The Carnada has a wide bodied, super erratic fall Slow Pitch Jig as well as a slim bodied Flutter Jig.

FishLab Carnada Jigs

The Carnada Slow Pitch Jigs feature assist hooks and the Flutter Jigs come with a single treble hook at the back end.

The “Complete” FishLab Run Through

Here is a little video I put together talking about each family of baits. Unfortunately I didn’t have all of them when I did it, but will put out the individual videos as I get them.

FishLab Conclusion

I am very excited about this new bait company. As I mentioned, FishLab has a small selection to start, but I hear rumors of great things to come. If the initial sampling is any indication, they have a bright future ahead of them.
