How To Access Cast Control on Okuma Komodo SS 200

Komodo SS 200 Access

I get asked pretty often why the Komodo SS 200 reels do not have a velocity control system when they in fact do. All sizes feature an internal, centrifugal cast control system. Getting into might be a little tricky with no external dial or switches. It’s really pretty simple.

Opening Your Komodo SS 200

Here is a quick video on how to access the cast control on your new 200 Size Komodo Reel.

Once you are inside of your new Komodo SS, you can make all of the necessary adjustments to the centrifugal cast control system. It is a 6-Pin system in the newer reels. No more dials, only the pin system.

You can also get in and do all of the maintenance that you would like to do such a lubrication and cleaning. The stainless steel main gear, pinion gear, drive shaft and spool shaft are all built for saltwater use, but some easy maintenance will keep your reel up and running for a long time.

These reels are pretty bad ass. Keep them running!

Here is a full run down that I did on the well built and ready for battle Komodo SS family of reels. In that article, I walk you through all of the components of the Komodo family.
