Looking for a New Toy?

I’m always looking for the next fun thing that I can add to my kayak. This one happens to be electronic and has brought a lot of joy to slow fishing days. The Scosche Boombottle also makes those long journeys out to the fishing grounds go much quicker.

So far I have had my Boombottle for about 6 months and absolutely love it! I can get a full 12 hours out of one full charge, which is generally about two sessions out on the water. The bluetooth compatibility is easy to you and has so far been flawless.

On my Riot Mako 12 Kayak, the Boombottle fits nicely in the built in cup holder right at the base of my kayak. It sits snugly and is easily reached. The large buttons also make it very nice for the kayak as I don’t have to do a lot of fumbling to get dialed in on my levels or music selection. As long as you can get to your phone, or other device, you should be good to go. The loud sound when you turn it on really lets you know that it is up and running.

And of course, being on a kayak all day, the waterproof design is very handly. The dual 45mm speaker is dustproof and waterproof up to 3 feet deep. This makes it perfect for your kayaking or other wet, action-packed adventures.

A really cool feature of the Scosche Boombottle is the strong magnetic top and bottom. The Boombottle features what is called a Rare-Earth 4x neodyminium magnet top and a 7x bottom magnet will keep you firmly gripped to any metal surface. Unfortunately on a plastic kayak, that doesn’t do me too well. But what it does do, is it lets me keep my pliers and cutters close at hand and secure to the boat. Very nice and fishy feature!

One other feature that some anglers might find handy is the built-in bottle opener on the speakers back to remove beverage caps. Of course, if you are operating machinery or are out in dangerous conditions, this better be a soda top opener! 🙂

Conclusion

Overall, I love this thing and definitely give it 5 stars.
