Sister Sicily Pizza & Pasta
As most residents of Yorba Linda know, finding a great little restaurant is not the easiest of tasks. My wife and I were craving some good pasta and were on the hunt. We were doing some Yelp searches and happened upon Sister Sicily Pizza & Pasta on Yorba Linda Boulevard in Yorba Linda California. What a great little find this turned out to be.
Sister Sicily Pizza & Pasta is a very small sit down restaurant found right in the Stater Brothers shopping center on the corner of Lakeview and Yorba Linda Blvd. With the option of Japanese, Chinese, Poke, as well as a Mc Donalds and Panda Express, this place stands out. It has a high end feel, at very reasonable prices.
The menu is not huge at Sister Sicily with only about four full pages of items to choose from. But on those four pages you will find some incredible items. The next couple photos represent the entire menu. Very reasonably priced as you can see.
As soon as you are seated one of the servers will ask you if you want some bread and butter. Always a silly question, but yes. Bring it on!
They also have a nice little wine and beer selection for such a small restaurant. If you are looking for a nice glass of Chianti, they have you covered at Sister Sicily.
After perusing the menu, this week I opted for the Chicken Parmigiana and it was absolutely delicious. They start out with a nice sized, lightly breaded chicken breast and bake it with marinara and mozzarella cheese. And with you, you get a big pile of pasta as well. This one comes with spaghetti with marinara sauce. I tried to add the fork for size reference, but it just didn’t do it justice. This thing was huge. Once I dug in, I realized it was actually two large chicken breasts and the dish was well seasoned, and very flavorful.
Karie went with the Garlic & Olive Oil pasta dish. This consists of Fresh garlic, splash of marinara, olive oil and chopped tomatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese over Angel Hair Pasta. There were a good amount of roasted garlic chunks, as well as generous portions of all of the other ingredients. And you know what, I’m a garlic guy, so I enjoyed it immensely.
As I mentioned at the beginning, Sister Sicily is not a big restaurant at all as there are maybe eight total tables with six of those down the left side of the restaurant. It does feel a little bit cramped at times when it is busy, but nothing that would deter me from really enjoying my meal.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. They will chat about the menu with you, and probably chat about anything you’d like. The folks at the counter were equally friendly and attentive as I saw numerous customers coming in and out for pick up orders. It also looks like they do delivery, so that might be an option for future meals.
