Lobster Season | How To Clean and Devein

Now that Lobster Season is once again upon us, it is always good to be prepared. One way to prepare for catching your lobster is to have a plan for what you will do with those bugs once you catch them. And what do you want to do with them? Hopefully eat them is on the top of that list.

But before you throw those tasty lobster into the pot, I always recommend cleaning and deveining your lobster. You don’t have to do this, but it is always a nice touch to get the…well, poop out of your food. If you aren’t familiar with the term “devein,” in the terms I am using, it means get the stomach and bowel contents out of your lobster before you cook it.

In this video, I run you through an easy way to clean and devein your lobster.

Cleaning and Deveining your Lobster

It really is a simple process that I will walk you through step by step.

It is the first week of October, so there are only a little over 5 and 3/4 months left to get out and catch yourself some.

There are only a couple of ways you can actually catch lobster. By hand, free or scuba diving, or by hoop net. I love the new Promar Ambush Conical Hoop Nets. Those things are legit!

And once you get your lobster caught and cleaned, you can cook them so many different ways. Lately we have been on a barbeque kick with our lobster. Cut the tail right down the middle and butterfly open. A couple minutes on each side and you are good to go.
Better get the butter ready!

Thank you for stopping by Davey’s World.
