Stay In Your Lane – Bass Fishing – Know Where To Go!

Knowing Your Water when Bass Fishing

There is nothing like getting out and exploring new waterways when you are out bass fishing. But with the prices of bass boats now a days, you better be sure where you are headed and what is at the waterline, or better yet, what is right below it.

Fishing stick ups and structure is an absolute blast and can be fun all around the country. Places like Lake Fork in Texas is a world class bass fishing lake, but also notorious for ripping lower units right off your boat. It is always good to do as much research as possible before heading out.

Where to Look

There are plenty of great resources out there that will help you figure out where to catch fish. They’ll discuss the structure, how to set up on a ledge and what baits to throw at eager bass. There are very few resources how how to actually get to those spots safely. Especially at a lake like Lake Fork.

Boat Lanes

One resource that I have found useful is the Downloadable Boat Lanes from Bass Fishing Connection. This website sells downloadable boat lanes for all of the popular lakes in and around Texas such as Lake Fork, Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend and Lake of the Pines. They sell each of the downloadable boat lane charts in several plotter formats such as Lowrance, Garmin and Hummingbird.

You can also find the Boat Lanes charts at all of the top local retailers at the various lakes such as Lake Fork Tackle, Oak Ridge Marina, Lake Fork Popes Landing and Bass Strike Tackle at Sam Rayburn.

If you have any specific questions about the downloadable boat lanes and what a great investment they are, ask questions on the Texas Fishing Forums.

And of course, if you have any questions on the installation of your new Boat Lanes Maps, check out this link from Boat Lanes for detailed video instructions.

I appreciate you all stopping by and hope this little product helps in keeping you a little bit safer when out on the water.
