We had a pretty incredible bass bite in Long Beach Harbor in Southern California right at the beginning of January. Pretty odd for this time of year, especially with 55 degree water. There is nothing like kayak fishing in the middle of winter. I was out with John Bretza from Okuma chasing Sand Bass, Spotted Bay Bass and Calico Bass. We also added a few Halibut into the mix as well. I was out on my Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 and John was on his Hobie Pro Angler.
